Education Week: Starting next fall, some students who take the ACT will be allowed to retake individual sections of the college-entrance exam. The new option, which ACT Inc. announced Tuesday, will be available only to students who take the test in national testing centers on Saturdays. Additional changes include the option for students to take a fifth section of the exam in writing, the expansion of computer-based ACT exams, and the addition of a “superscore” calculated by ACT in score reports to colleges.
